A healing arts practitioner with over ten years’ experience, I received my Reiki I and II certifications in 2000 from Reiki master Pamela Jane, and have studied Western astrology for over a decade. While working for the environmental group NRDC I fell in love with the honeybees and since 2010 have been a beekeeper and honeybee educator and activist.
My Reiki work is grounded in the traditional Usui method, out of which I’ve developed a healing modality which is flexible and tailored to each client, incorporating mantra work, meditation, and visualization techniques. Interested in the stars and psychology since childhood, I began my astrology studies in 2004 after my first natal chart reading. My approach to natal chart readings is psychodynamic and eco-therapeutic, drawing on the signs of the natural world.
I have an M.Phil and M.A. in English Literature from Columbia University, where I was awarded the Marjorie Hope Nicolson Fellowship and taught writing. My research interests include the history of the idea of nature and eco-therapy. As an undergraduate at Rutgers University I developed a love for Buddhist practice and history, particularly Zen, which infuses my work. My literary scholarship has provided a foundation for my work with archetypes, with further enrichment provided by workshops through The Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
I am currently training to be a psychoanalyst at the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in New York City.
